We Are The Wandering Shores

We are Kyle and Michelle Shore—a couple of adventurers who, in September 2020, traded in our steady careers and most of our belongings for life on the road in a 28-foot travel trailer with our four cats. Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, we set out thinking it would be a two-year journey—but we quickly fell in love with the nomadic lifestyle and now travel full-time with no plans to stop.
Our adventures have taken us all over the U.S., from iconic national parks to quiet desert landscapes, rugged mountains, and remote boondocking spots. We share it all—epic hikes, mountain biking trails, kayaking trips, and helpful RV content like solar setups, water systems, gear reviews, maintenance tips, off-grid living strategies, and honest cost breakdowns.

I'm the soft-spoken half of The Wandering Shores. With a love for
adventure and an eye for detail, I help Kyle bring our stories to life through video, photography, and social media. Before we hit the road
full-time, I spent over twenty years in the classroom as a first-grade
teacher. Life on the road has given me more freedom than I ever thought possible. It has undoubtedly brought out my adventurous spirit.
I am a wife, sister, and cat mom. You may also know me as the one who rides in the backseat of the truck on travel days with our cats. I wouldn’t have it any other way. I’m also a creature of habit, which is something that doesn’t come along with this lifestyle. I’ve learned to go with the flow, while still holding on to a few routine things. Our journey, so far, has been life changing and I’m excited for the adventures awaiting us down the road.

I'm the driving force behind The Wandering Shores, blending my passion for exploration with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset. After leaving behind a stable career, I took a bold leap into full-time RV life in 2020. I thrive in off-grid environments—tinkering with solar setups, tackling RV repairs, and always on the hunt for the perfect boondocking spots across the country.
As a natural storyteller with a deep love for the outdoors, I document our adventures through video and share honest insights into the realities of nomadic living. Whether I’m hiking remote trails, mountain biking rugged terrain, or diving into the latest gear reviews, my enthusiasm for travel and community connection shines through. This adventurous spirit and practical know-how not only guide our journey—they inspire others to chase freedom on their own terms.

Forget GPS — Mooshie always knows which way is west (especially if the sun is shining on a good nap spot). He’s the king of cozy, the boss of the backseat, and firmly believes every boondocking spot should come with birds and a breeze.
Chanel brings the glam to the great outdoors. Equal parts diva and explorer, she’s just as happy sunbathing beside the bedroom window as she is batting at Marley to leave her alone. Don’t let the pretty face fool you — she’s fierce when it comes to protecting her snacks.
Marley, the youngest and most curious, is a furry ball of energy with a soft spot for climbing everything — especially if it’s off-limits. He’s our unofficial campground scout and has never met a screen door he didn’t want to escape through (don’t worry, we’ve upgraded our latches).
